Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information panchayatreports.in collects and how we use it.

Information we collect

• Account details: your mobile number and email address (used to send the login OTP).
• Report inputs: the panchayat, period, and any files you upload (e.g., bank statements, PPA reports), plus the government-portal username you provide.
• Payment details: the UPI reference (UTR) you submit. We do not collect or store your card numbers, UPI PIN, or bank credentials.

What we do NOT store

We do not store your government-portal password or login OTP. For tools that need them, they are provided directly at the time of preparation and used only once to generate your report.

AI assistant (உதவி முகவர்)

Our tool pages include an on-screen assistant that guides you through each step and answers questions. Most of what it does — pointing at the next field, enlarging the captcha, filling in the date range — happens entirely in your own browser and is sent nowhere.

• When you type a question, that question, the name of the tool you are using and the step you are on are sent to our server, and from there to our AI provider (OpenRouter, whose servers are outside India) purely to generate a reply.
• The assistant never receives your portal password, OTP or captcha. Those are typed into a separate secure box that writes straight into the login form and is cleared immediately. They are never added to the conversation.
• We automatically remove anything that looks like a password, OTP, PIN, Aadhaar or PAN number, bank account number, mobile number or email address from your message before it is sent, in the browser and again on our server.
• We do not send your uploaded files or your report data to the AI provider.
• We record anonymous counts of which step people get stuck on, so we can improve the tools. These contain no personal data and no message text.
• You never have to use the assistant. Close it and every tool works exactly as before.

How we use your information

• To log you in, generate your reports, and deliver them to you.
• To confirm payments and provide support.
• To notify you (and the operator) by email about your requests and login OTPs.

Uploaded files & retention

Files you upload (and the reports we generate) are used only to produce your report and are automatically deleted 7 days after delivery; you can ask us to delete them sooner — see our Data Deletion Policy. Account and payment records are kept only as required to run the service and meet legal obligations.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share information only as needed to operate the service (for example, our email and payment providers, and the AI provider described above) or where required by law.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS (encrypted). We take reasonable measures to protect your data, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
